Fevermapislands maps of a game
Made by me : Flash application , Backend , Design , UX
This is an application made for the game Fever. This game consists of a sort of giant maze of islands you have to walk through. My project Fevermap is a collaborative map so anyone can find its way without loosing precious time.
You will need an account on Muxxu to be able to use the app.
The application contains a sort of versionning as it keep every single update made by players with the possibility to update to a specific revision and a kick/ban system, but to prevent from a possibly huge amount of work if some player decided to troll the map, the edition rights were given only to trusted people that played the game for some time.
The map contains multiple rendering types depending on what we want to see or the zoom level.
For example you can render the map to :
- See the paths
- See the players concentration
- See the difficulty level (number and strengt of enemies)
- See the cleaned islands (all enemies killed by at least someone, which in some islands reveals things)
- See the not yet fully contributed
It also gives lots of search possibilities to the player that allow them to find a specific item in the world, the quickest path to some place, where is located another player, etc...
In short, without this tool the game is really complicated to play. Some might say it's funier without it, but in the end everyone creates a map by hand which becomes quickly unsusable. This tool has been made to answer that specific issue, as well as having some fun coding/creating things of course.
I've never been fully satisfied by this project, mostly performance-side, but it was real fun to make and maintain it !
As a bonus when i had updates to make or beta testing phases, users were redirected to this maintenance page :

The app was supposed to open when the penguin would have finished the fridge.
